Congratulations to our Foxface , Jacqueline Emerson who has been cast in a new indie film Son of the South.
According to a report from Variety :
Rafe Spall (“Prometheus”) and Jacqueline Emerson (“The Hunger Games”) are attached to star in indie drama “Son of the South,” a new project from Barry Alexander Brown that Spike Lee is set to exec produce.
Pic will be based on Bob Zellner’s autobiography “The Wrong Side of Murder Creek,” which was published by New South Books. Tome chronicles the white author’s life in Alabama, where he grew up as the son of a minister and grandson of a KKK member before joining the Civil Rights Movement.
Spall will play Zellner, while Emerson will play his fiancee, Carol Anne. Supporting cast includes Marianne Jean Baptiste, Lou Gossett Jr., Clint Dyer and Saskia Reeves. Chaka Forman is set to play his own father, civil rights leader Jim Forman.
Eve Pomerance is producing “Son of the South” through her Major Motion Pictures banner, in association with Stephen Nemeth of Rhino Films. Christopher J. Smith and Robin Adams will co-produce with Dyer.
Spall, who recently played William Shakespeare in Roland Emmerich’s “Anonymous,” is repped by UTA and Troika. Emerson, who is best known for playing Foxface in “The Hunger Games,” is repped by Sweeney Entertainment.
