To celebrate the release of the Hunger Game dvd, our very own Elizabeth Banks aka Effie is holding a contest on her website where she will be giving away a signed copy of the Hunger Games dvd!

Here are the details :

My, how time flies! It seems like just yesterday they were caking make-up on my face and I was yelling about mahogany. Now the day has come—you can bring The Hunger Games into your home. Just the Blu-Ray orDVD version, please. Extreme sibling rivalry not condoned.

It’ll hit shelves on August 18 at midnight and include three hours of bonus material with an eight-part behind-the-scenes documentary called The World is Watching: Making of The Hunger Games. The Blu-Ray version will even come with an additional exclusive feature, “Preparing for the Games: A Director’s Process,” where you will get to see how the important scenes from the book were adapted for the screen.

Oh, you want to know how to win a signed copy? Right, right, let’s get down to business. Here’s how:

In the comments below, tell me which was your favorite scene of the movie (aka which you’re excited to watch 12,043 times once you get your hands on a copy). Six winners will be chosen at random to win!

May the odds be ever in your favor!

NOTE: YOU NEED TO COMMENT ON THE POST ON ELIZABETH”S SITE, NOT THIS POST!

My favorite scene in the movie was when Peeta was at his nterview and Caesar ask if Peeta has a special girl back home. Peeta says “There is this one girl ive had a crush on forever but never noticed him until the reaping.” Caesar tell him to win. Peeta say “Winning wont help out in my case. Caesar say “Why not?” Peeta says “Because she came here with me. I was like oh my gosh even though i read this book many time i just love that scene i cried everytime i watched it in theaters. Can’t wait to see this again!!
  4. Clara says:
My favorite scene was when they did the first interview with Peeta and he told the whole Capital that he was in love with Katniss!
  5. Hm. What was my favorite scene?
I hate to say I “enjoyed” the scene where Katniss ‘buries’ Rue. However, that is the part of the movie that really stuck with me. Even in the book, I reread that part. Over and over again. And I cried like a baby every time. I was so emotionally attached to Rue from reading the book that when I actually saw the scene it really tore me up. People honestly laughed at me in the theater. And l ook at me like im crazy when im reading it. I could quote Katniss’ thoughts at that point.
To be honest with you , now when I see/read the hunger games, I start to cry when she first meets rue.
So I guess you could say, that is my favorite scene.

I am soo excite and CAN’T wait to have my very own copy of the Hunger Games!! My ultimate favorite scene that I will be watching 12,043 times has to be the cave scene where Peeta confesses to Katniss how he used to watch her walk to school everyday…this just makes my heart melt because of how he just doesn’t think it about it twice and goes right away and shows his feelings for Katniss! I LOVE that scene! I LOVE PEETA MORE!!!
  7. Toria K says:
My favorite scene would have to be at the end, when Cato has Peeta in a chokehold on top of the Cornucopia. Cato yells things like, “We’re dead anyway” and “Is this what you wanted?” to the sky. The scene reminds me of the fact that even though Cato was privileged enough to be trained to win the Hunger Games, he’s still just a teenager who has been forced to change into a murderer and doesn’t want to die. Cato is human, just like Katniss, just like Peeta, just like all of the other tributes who died before them. That’s my favorite scene.
  8. Linda Moore says:
Favorite scene is when Katniss & Peeta realize they’ve won, then the announcement that only one can win and Katniss outsmarts them….
  9. Luis B. says:
I was most excited to see gow they had made the capitol mutts! Oh oh and the bloodbath!! I really was anxious to see that one too!!! :D
  10. Gabriela says:
There are many scenes I want to see again but I guess that my favorite is when she shoots the arrow at the game makers, that was so awesome.
  11. Alec Roth says:
My favorite scene in The Hunger Games was when the tributes were introduced in their chariots to Panem. I loved all of their outfits, especially District 5′s because I love Foxface! I also loved getting to see all the new tributes before they died. haha but I loved The Hunger Games book and movie so much and I can’t stop reading the book and I’m sure I’ll be watching the movie over and over again!!!!!!

One of my favorite scenes is the Reaping. Having the concept of showing that Katniss would risk her life and do anything for her younger sister is just a wonderful thing and I realy love that scene!

It’s so hard to decide!! I love all the scenes in the Hunger Games. I love the part when Effie yells Mahogany when Katniss stabs the knife into the place mat! I also love the part in the end where Katniss and Peeta are both about to eat the berries to prove that they aren’t just another piece of their games. I love all the scenes and characters!!!
