Happy Mother’s day Moms! Working Mother Magazine has once more designed a list of their Most Powerful Mom’s of 2013, and Suzanne Collins, our beloved Hunger Games author, is on the list for the second year in a row! You can view the whole list here!
Suzanne Collins
[Entertainment/Literature]
Author of the Hunger Games Series
Children: 2 KidsA former writer for children’s television, this talented and wildly successful writer mom worked on Clarissa Explains it All and Wow! Wow! Wubbzy!before trying her hand at children’s books. Her first series, The Underland Chronicles, sold well enough to pave the way for her next series, the multimillion-selling book and movie series, the Hunger Games. Now living in Connecticut with her husband and two children, Suzanne seems to favor a low, grounded profile. We’ll see if she can keep that going when her new book, Year of the Jungle, hits shelves sometime this year!

We all have our favorite scenes from the book that we would just die if they weren’t in Catching Fire, but it’s always good to calm down and discuss what scenes are essential for building up Katniss as a character in the film and moving her forward as she does in the books: And Yahoo! UK did just that, do you agree with their list? WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD IF YOU HAVE NOT READ THE BOOKS (and in that case, please do;-)!
1. District 11 scenes
Many of the important scenes in the ‘Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ novel take place in District 11. This is one of the poorer, agricultural sectors of Panem. While resident in District 11, we see several key scenes that underline the themes of the book, including passionate speeches from Peeta and Katniss, and the witnessing of a man being executed by being shot in the head. These events play a significant part in the events that unfold later.
2. Katniss and Peeta intimacy
When Katniss and Peeta share a bed for the first time in the novel, it is as a security blanket to protect themselves against the nightmares that they’re suffering from. This is a particularly important sequence in their blossoming relationship.
. Katniss defends Gale
Throughout ‘Hunger Games: Catching Fire’, Katniss is torn between survival instincts and idealism. When she defends Gale as he is being whipped as a punishment, it is a critical step towards doing the right thing over surviving.
4. Want a sugar cube?
One sequence particularly beloved of fans of the novel is the scene where Finnick offers Katniss a sugar cube intended for horses. This is a light-hearted and flirtatious scene which would provide some light relief from the deadly tale at the heart of the ‘Hunger Games’ universe.
5. District 12
It seems inconceivable that this could be omitted or altered in some way, but the revelations regarding District 12, and the stunned response of Katniss, would seem to be an ideal way to end the movie.

So check this out! You can now purchase the Katniss and Peeta Tribute statue from the Hunger games Adventures! However they can only be bought with Mockingjay tokens, the currency of the game, which you can get from Facebook tokens.
Now The Hunger Games Adventures have made the Katniss and Peeta Tribute Statues available for purchase inside the game!
There’s a catch, though. The statues can’t be bought with in-game money. They can only be purchased using mockingjay tokens… which can only be purchased by buying Facebook tokens.
The statues cost 50 mockingjay tokens, which equals $4.00 US currency. So, if you’re dying for one of these statues to decorate your Forest Escape, now’s the time to buy. Warning though– if you’re rolling in cash and want to populate your hideaway with dozens of tribute statues, it looks like they’re unique items, so you can only own one Katniss and one Peeta at a time.
