Media Essentials caught up with two stars from the film, Mackenzie Lintz and Annie Thurman (who respectively played District 8 and 9 Tribute) at the recent MCM Expo in Birmingham. This is what they had to say:

How are you today? You enjoying Birmingham’s MCM Expo?

Mackenzie – It’s great. It’s so much fun.

Annie – Yeah, it’s great to just have a look around.

Do you mind explaining to our readers, how you both got your role in The Hunger Games?

Mackenzie – Okay I had read all the books, so I was a total Hunger Games fanatic. My family is with the talent agency, so I got to audition for it and a few weeks later I heard back that I got it. My reaction was insane, I should have been filmed; I looked ridiculous.

Annie – Mine was, basically, the same and when I got the role I was like “What” and began totally freaking out. It was insane.

District 8 tribute Mackenzie Lintz and District 9 tribute Annie Thurman will both be appearing at Birmingham Comic Con this weekend March 31-April 1. The duo will be appearing both Saturday and Sunday at the event. More information here.
