Our Hunger Games cast Eric Hennig (Featured extra in the Game center control room ), Nelson Ascensio (Flavius), Kimiko Gelman (Venia), Brooke Bundy (Octavia), Jackie Emerson (Foxface), Amandla Stenberg (Rue) and Dayo Okeniyi (Thresh) made an appearance at the Fiction2Film Saturday night gala celebration on 6/23/12 where fans were able to interact with the cast members, dance, and just have a GREAT time!!
I have to say all of the cast members were so nice and personable! I even spotted Jackie and Amandla dancing away with fans during the evening!

Our design team members Nelson Ascencio (Flavius), Brooke Bundy (Octavia) and Kimiko Gelman (Venia) attended the Fiction2Film Hunger Games convention 6/23/12. Check out their pics and a summary of our tweets from their fan panel! These guys are AWESOME!!
1. Design team is up. Nelson says the horses in the chariot scene emitted some awful smells LOL
2. Kimiko (Venia) wasn’t sure exactly how she would look till the day of the shoot.
3. Nelson (Flavius) says took over a week to design his hair style
4. Kimiko (Venia) says Donald Sutherland didn’t recognize her outside of her costume
5. Nelson says watching the tribute interviews was a lot of fun
6. Nelson read the trilogy in a week
7. Nelson and Kimiko says Lenny Kravitz is one of the sweetest people you will ever meet
8. Brooke (octavia)says the Hunger Games has opened a lot of doors for her, but still occaisionally babysits :)
9. Nelson says he is excited to how his character will be incorporated in Mockingjay
10. Nelson relates the style of Blade Runner to #HungerGames
11. Brookes favorite part is when the games are about to begin and that’s when it hit her she was in the #HungerGames
12. Nelson says reaping scene was amazing and Kimiko agrees
13. The design team will be back for the next movie
14. Nelson picks Naya Rivera as his Johanna fan casting choice
15. Kimiko says that the makeup is really hard to take off
16. Nelson would have loved to be Haymitch Brooke would love to be Annie

It’s been a newstastic week for Hunger Games fans filled with lots of casting news, and pictures.
The biggest news of this week was the announcement of Lenny Kravitz as our beloved “Cinna”. Initially, there was a mixed response to this casting choice, but as time passed by, it appears most of the fans agree that while Lenny is a surprising choice, there is hope that he will surprise us with his performance.
Hunger Games director Gary Ross gave this statement on Lenny Kravitz as Cinna :
Said director Gary Ross of the casting decision, “When I saw Lenny’s work in PRECIOUS I was just knocked out. It was quiet and strong and understated and open hearted; all qualities which define this character. I’m really looking forward to this ride.”
With the announcement of “Cinna” completed, Lionsgate announced the rest of Katniss’ prep team members by confirming that the role of “Flavius” will be played by Nelson Ascensio and” Venia” by Kimiko Gelman !

In more casting news, Lionsgate also confirmed the casting of Toby Jones as “Claudius Templesmith” the announcer in the arena’s of the Hunger Games! For you Harry Potter fans out there, you may best know Toby as the voice of “Dobby” the house elf in the Harry Potter movies !
The final casting news this week, was the announcement of the red haired Avox Girl whose name we later come to know is “Lavinia” . She will be played by actress Amber Chaney!! Based on her appearance alone, Amber looks like a perfect choice!!
In addition to the casting news, this week we got a look at some of the Hunger Games set. Here’s a couple of the pictures that made us excited!

We also learned that the reaping scene was being filmed this week involving hundreds of extras ! This is a pivotal moment in the book and we are looking foward to seeing it on screen!
In celeb sightings we saw great pics of Josh zip lining in North Carolina, and a peek at a darker haired Liam Hemsworth!
In some very exciting news, Lionsgate has confirmed that the current Hunger Games script being used for filming was a direct collaboration between director Gary Ross and author Suzanne Collins. In our opinion , it just doesn’t get any better than that!
Last, we know there were some pictures that came out this week of Jennifer Lawrence and Liam Hemsworth in character on the Hunger Games set. Out of our respect for Lionsgate and their rights to the images, we did remove them from our site.
