Looks like Liam continues to be a busy guy.  He  has signed on to a new action movie Aurora Rising. 

According to a report from the Hollywood Reporter :

Liam Hemsworth (The Hunger Games) will star in the action movie Aurora Rising, it was announced Monday by Relativity Media, which will distribute.

Aurora Rising is about a Southern California surfer who becomes a fighter pilot and after a messy combat mission, is recruited to be part of an elite team to test a new generation of aircraft just as an international conflict begins.

Based on a screenplay by Christian Gudegast (A Man Apart), it is being produced by Alexandra Milchan’s Emjag Productions, Scott Lambert’s Film 360 and Relativity Media CEO Ryan Kavanaugh. Antonio Moura Santos Jr. is executive producer.

Relativity is scheduled to release the espionage thrillerParanoia, which also stars Hemsworth, on Aug. 16.

Taking futuristic dystopian fashion and fun to whole new levels, Lionsgate’s THE HUNGER GAMES:CATCHING FIRE Capitol Party at Baoli Beach on Saturday evening sponsored by COVERGIRL was this year’s hottest event at the Cannes Film Festival. Themed around 2013’s most anticipated motion-picture release, THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE, the party was comprised of an exclusive guest list that included the film’s stars Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth and Sam Claflin, as well as director Francis Lawrence. COVERGIRL, which celebrated its partnership with the film at the event, provided touchups to party guests. Acclaimed DJ Snake kept everyone in the groove while a platoon of models remained in constant circulation clad in “Capital Chic” attire.

Lionsgate spent five months planning the exclusive affair paying close attention to every detail from importing Capitol portraits for the event, to providing specially coded tickets for each guest which included a pin for them to wear granting them access. The night rivaled the grandest celebrations hosted by President Snow.

Liam Hemsworth was at the Belvedere party at the Cannes film festival in France on 5/17/13. We’ve already seen photo’s from the photo call today with Sam Claflin (Finnick) and Jennifer Lawrence (Katniss), and we’re thinking this means he will probably be at the Catching Fire party later today. They are all there to promote the movie.  This is all pretty exciting!

It was previously rumored that Liam Hemsworth was to start in Universal’s The Raven, but he is no longer attached to the project. It looks like Gerard Butler is in talks to star in the movie instead.

The Raven is once again hoping to take flight.

Gerard Butler is in negotiations to star in the Universal sci-fi action project, which has seen several iterations since it made its debut as a hot short in early 2010.

Gold Circle has now come aboard to co-finance the production, with Universal distributing the movie worldwide.

Universal picked up the rights to the short, directed by Ricardo de Montreuil, in December 2010 after eight months of on-and-off, back-to-life negotiations. When it finally settled at the studio, it attracted Liam Hemsworth, but that phase passed as well.

Now with Butler and Golf Circle, Raven is looking like it may be before cameras this year.

De Montreuil is still on board to direct. Michael Gilio wrote the script based on the short film’s story by de Montreuil and Antonio Perez. (Justin Marks wrote an early draft.)

Recently the very lucky girls of American Idol got to meet Liam Hemsworth (Gale). Here’s what they had to say! I’m sure jealous! LOL

“[I felt] a bunch of heart flutters,” contestant Kree Harrison told AccessHollywood.com’s Laura Saltman following “Idol” on Wednesday, when asked about meeting the handsome Aussie. “I love ‘Hunger Games.’ I wasn’t expecting him to be there, so it was cool.

“I had a blast,” she added.

The run-in was especially exciting for Angie Miller (who bears a striking resemblance to Liam’s longtime love, Miley Cyrus).

 

“When I saw him I was like, ‘Ahh!’ and I looked at all the other girls and I was like, ‘That’s Liam Hemsworth!’ I was like, freaking out,” Angie told Laura. “He didn’t say that [I look like Miley], but when I posted the photo [of us] online, every comment was like, ‘He probably thought she was Miley!’

“I was like, ‘Oh my gosh,’” she continued. “I’m a huge ‘Hunger Games’ fan.”

The Hemsworth brother’s Liam (Gale), Chris, and Luke attended the City Year Los Angeles 2013 Spring Break: Destination Education Saturday April 20th at the Sony Pictures Studio’s in Culver City California. This is an organization which supports Ameri Corps workers who tutor some 4,000 kids who are at risk of dropping out of school. Such a great cause! I’m loving Liam’s beard, grizzly Liam is my favorite!
