Cannes Film Festival is officially going on right now.  Studios come out in droves to present their films for distribution, make casting announcements, throw lavish parties, and enjoy the films screened at the fest. It looks like Lionsgate is throwing its biggest bash ever to celebrate Catching Fire later this year and to garner interest and possibly international sales ahead of Mockingjay 1 & 2 hitting theaters in 2014 and 2015. Jennifer Lawrence is rumored to attend the soiree.

The Hunger Games cast’s other projects have also had some news. Sam Claflin‘s Love, Rosie, currently filming, and co-starring Lily Collins, has been picked up for international distribution by Mister Smith Entertainment. No word yet on domestic distribution for that one.  Terrence Malick will reveal footage from his Knight of Cups, featuring Wes Bentley, to find international buyers. If Wes shows up in support, we’ll post pics here on the site.  In addition, Philip Seymour Hoffman has been cast in the new film God’s Pocket.

We won’t see Wes Bentley’s Seneca Crane in Catching Fire, but we can see Wes in plenty of new projects! He’s just been cast in the upcoming film Things People Do. From Deadline:

Wes Bentley will lead the cast of Saar Klein’s Things People Do, about a family man who loses his job and embarks on a life of crime. Also set for the drama shooting April 3 in New Mexico are Vinessa Shaw as Bentley’s wife, Jason Isaacs as a detective he befriends, and Haley Bennett as a stranger he meets along his journey who inspires him to commit a crime in her honor.

Wes Bentley is among MANY various actors reading for the role of Star-Lord in the upcoming Marvel film Guardians of the Galaxy, based on the comic book series. From Collider:

In addition to the Carrey/Sandler news, the site also reports that Wes Bentley, Chris Lowell(The Help, Veronica Mars), and Cam Gigandet(Twilight) are the latest crop of actors being asked to read for the role of Star-Lord.  Again, reading for a role is not the same thing as receiving an offer, but it’s clear that Marvel is casting a very wide net in filling this part.  Hopefully we hear more solid news soon as the film gears up to begin production later this summer in London.  Guardians of the Galaxy will be released in 3D on August 1, 2014.

3. Seneca Crane, gamekeeper from the recent Hunger Games movie, played by Wes Bently and whose real beard took two hours to create every day

Rounding out the top ten facial hair icons are:

4. Filmmaker and actor John Waters, known for his pencil-thin mustache
5. Ambrose Burnside, a Union Army general in the American Civil War whose facial hair style coined the word sideburns

 The survey also examined facial hair preferences. Overwhelmingly respondents most enjoy the mustache, which took 72.8 percent of the vote, followed by the beard (14.6%), sideburns (6.8%) and a dashing combination of them all (5.8%). More than 70 percent of respondents also asserted that facial hair is as respected today as throughout history.

 Facial hair has moved in and out of fashion over the years and the historical record is full of shaggy characters,” said D. Joshua Taylor, findmypast.com’s lead genealogist. “When doing our own family history research, taking a break from our pedigrees to discover details about everything from profession to facial hair brings color to our family trees and brings us closer to our ancestors.”

People has revealed their Sexiest Man Alive of 2012, but our Hunger Games cast Josh Hutcherson and Wes Bentley were also mentioned in this issues.
