Thanks to Huffington Post Entertainment we have confirmation of a second song on The Hunger Games: Catching Fire soundtrack, a song called Lean by Ohio based band The National! Though it wasn’t always called Lean, the band had to change the title because it was deemed too dark for the Hunger Games sequel’s soundtrack!
The National submitted a song for the “Hunger Games: Catching Fire” soundtrack with the title “Dying Is Easy,” but the folks behind the sure-to-be massive sequel felt the name was too grim. The song name has since been changed to “Lean.”
“The song almost didn’t make it because it was too dark for the ‘Hunger Games’ soundtrack, which I thought was sort of funny because it’s about killing kids,” singer Matt Berninger told NME. “I don’t know how a song can be darker than that? So we had to change the name of the song; I actually like the name ‘Lean.’”
Coldplay recently released “Atlas,” the song the band recorded for “Catching Fire.”
