EW.com has revealed a 90 -second snippet of the the Civil Wars’ second song to be featured on the soundtrack (they also perform on Taylor Swift’s track of “Safe & Sound”) “Kingdom Come.”

By now, Hunger Games fans are well acquainted with “Safe & Sound,” the soundtrack’s lead single cohelmed by Taylor Swift and the Civil Wars.

But the Grammy-winning folk duo (John Paul White and Joy Williams) also have their own song on the album, “Kingdom Come,” which you can preview exclusively at the link below.

“It’s our homage to a survival song,” Williams told EW. “And also to trying to keep your cool and stay rational in a ridiculous situation,” White added. “It’s a little bit of ‘It’s going to be OK, it’s going to be all right, we’re going to make it through this,’ even when the situation around you is more dire than you’d care to admit. I think it’s how we all cope.”

In a new interview with Digital Spy, the Civil Wars tease some details about their song Kingdom Come on the upcoming Hunger Games sound track.

The Civil Wars have teased details about their forthcoming song for The Hunger Games soundtrack.

The duo – consisting of John Paul White and Joy Williams - wrote a track titled ‘Kingdom Come’ for the movie’s soundtrack, which will be released on March 19.

Talking about writing the song, White told Digital Spy: “Joy and I have read all the books and are big fans so we had a firm grasp about what we wanted to go after.

“We had the imagery in our head of rapid motion and the chase and so we had that energy in the back of our minds when we wrote the song. We’re really proud of it.”

Asked if they had seen a preview of the movie for inspiration, Williams replied: “We did not get a preview of the movie, but I would have enjoyed one!

“The books were all we really needed because they’re written in such a colourful, descriptive way that we could concoct a world of our own that could be well fleshed-out.”

White added: “We tried to make it where it could exist on its own too so it wouldn’t be so specific to the movie.”

A few things we noticed: Willow Shields is credited as performing the Lullaby along with Jennifer Lawrence!  Also, most of these songs are not on the soundtrack album, the tracks of which have already been revealed. However, these songs will appear somewhere in the film (even if it is the credits) along with the film’s score from James Newton Howard.
