We didn’t even know that Alexander Ludwig had a new gig until he tweeted last week that he was traveling to the set of Grown Ups 2 to start shooting. Now, Variety brings us some more information about Alexander’s role.

Alexander Ludwig, who played the main baddie Cato in “The Hunger Games,” is pivoting to a less menacing role, joining the cast of “Grown Ups 2″ to play David Spade’s son.

Sony sequel stars Adam Sandler, Kevin James, David Spade, Chris Rock and Rob Schneider.

“Grown Ups” helmer Dennis Dugan is returning to direct the sequel for Sony Pictures and Happy Madison. Fred Wolf penned the script with Jack Giarraputo is producing with Sandler through Sandler’s Happy Madison banner.
