I saw this incredible Hunger Games themed center piece at the Fiction2Film evening dance party and was simply blown away. Created by Amber Cheiky, it is a 4 side center piece that depicts Katniss and Peeta, Gale, Seneca Crane and Effie.
I got the opportunity to talk with Amber about her creation, and learned she actually started working on this project last June (2011) when casting news first started to come out for the Hunger Games.
Amber styled the dolls to suit their characters. She cut Gale’s hair, trimmed Peeta’s hair, and even dyed Katniss hair from brown to red! Amber also handpainted all the dolls make up,and Effie’s gloves. All the dolls clothes were hand sewn by Amber, AND the tv screen in Effie’s scene actually changes images and features all the different tributes. Talk about creativity!! Needless to say, Amber won the contest for the best fan made centerpiece.
